چکیده
Background: The surgical management of large bowel emergency patients remains controversial. However, there has been an increasing trend toward primary reconstructive surgery. Objective: To evaluate one-stage procedure versus two-stage in cases presented with obstructed nonperforated cancer colon terms operative time, hospital stay, postoperative complications, peri-operative mortality, and quality life. Patients methods: A prospective randomized study was conducted at Emergency Mansoura University Hospitals. total 50 diagnosed were randomly allocated into two groups; the first group included 25 who underwent approach, second one remaining approach. Results: Although two-staged approach showed increase time compared to single-stage (174.88 vs. 163.84 minutes respectively), that difference statistically insignificant (p = 0.102). Hospital stay significant prolongation (5.8 3.88 days – p < 0.001). No detected between groups regarding complications. Mortality encountered only case (4%) due pulmonary embolism. prevalence patient dissatisfaction significantly higher (48%) (12%). Conclusion: We concluded no perioperative morbidity or mortality rates staged when applied for patients.

The purpose of this study was to determine if any differences existed in the early complication rate, short term clinical outcome, and total length of hospital stay between patients who had bilateral total hip arthroplasty performed under a single anesthetic (during 1 patient visit to the operating room) and patients who had the procedure performed under 2 anesthetics (during 2 patient visits t...

PURPOSES The purpose of this study was to verify the outcome of the emergency one stage resection and anastomosis procedure for patients with obstructed colorectal cancer. METHODS An emergency one stage resection and anastomosis procedure was performed for 40 patients with obstructive colorectal cancer. متن کاملTwo-stage Procedure in P-Order Autoregressive Process
In this paper, the two-stage procedure is considered for autoregressive parameters estimation in the p-order autoregressive model ( AR(p)). The point estimation and fixed-size confidence ellipsoids construction are investigated which are based on least-squares estimators. Performance criteria are shown including asymptotically risk efficient, asymptotically efficient, and asymptotically consist...
متن کاملRestoration of bowel continuity after surgery for acute perforated diverticulitis: should Hartmann's procedure be considered a one-stage procedure?
OBJECTIVE Hartmann's procedure (HP) still remains the most frequently performed procedure in acute perforated diverticulitis, but it results in a end colostomy. Primary anastomosis (PA) with or without defunctioning loop ileostomy (DI) seems a good alternative. The aim of this study was to assess differences in the rate of stomal reversal after HP and PA with DI and to evaluate factors associat...
